David Bowie finally has a Number 1 album with his last release “Blackstar” knocking Adele’s “25” from the top perch after seven weeks.
Since it’s release two days before Bowie died of cancer, “Blackstar” has sold 174,000 copies, according to Nielsen Music. It’s the best sales week for Bowie since Nielsen began electronically tracking music purchases in 1991.
Since his death, Bowie has landed 10 albums on the Billboard 200 including the “Best of Bowie” at No. 4 and “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars” at No. 21.
