Bruce Springsteen has offered up his cover of “Purple Rain” as a free download as a tribute to Prince.
Bruce Springsteen opened up his Brooklyn concert Saturday night by paying tribute to Prince with a cover of the classic “Purple Rain” and now he has offered it to his fans as a free download.
The band walked onto the stage at the Barclays Center awash in purple light as they opted to start the show with “Purple Rain”  instead of beginning their show with the usual The River Tour opener “Meet Me in the City.”
“Prince forever! God bless,” Springsteen said as the song came to a close.
