This Day in Rock History: November 22nd

Time to take a look back into this day in rock history: November 22

1968

Hall of Famers Jeff Beck, Ronnie Wood and Rod Stewart were joined by Detroit’s MC5 on this date at Cleveland’s Grande Ballroom.  The MC5 were managed by John Sinclair who was linked to the White Panther Party.  Sinclair would later be sentenced to ten years in prison for having two joints  but was later released with some help from John Lennon.

1987

The Cars played the Richfield Coliseum on this date.  When it opened in 1974 the Coliseum was seen as one of the most advanced arenas of its time.

2014

One of Cleveland’s favorite musical voices, troubadour Alex Bevan played the Kent Stage on this date in 2014.
