Richard Thompson played for a sold out crowd last evening at The Kent Stage. He is on tour in support of his brand-new album, “Ship To Shore” (Released in May of this year.)
An acoustic show that had the crowd absolutely silent while he was playing songs from his career but after a song was over, the crowd gave a thunderous round of applause for each and every song.
Richard Thompson throughout the night told some stories, a language lesson, and gave us a glimpse of his humor during his approximately 1 hour and 45 minute set.
While performing “solo” for most of his set, Thompson brought out Zara Phillips to join him in singing some songs, mainly from the “Ship To Shore” album. The show that the founder and former member of the Fairport Convention gave last night was just incredible, as the sold-out crowd would attest too.
