10cc Brings The Hits To Kent

Editors Note: In the original review it was noted that Iain Hornal was on stage as a member of the band and instead it should have been Andrew Park who was featured on lead vocals, guitar, percussion and piano. Our apologizes to Andrew Park for the mistake.

A “CONCERT BUCKET LIST” show for most of the fans in the crowd last evening at The Kent Stage as 10cc finally after 46 years returned to the USA for a concert tour. They must have been rehearsing for the last 46 years as this was by far one of the best concerts of 2024.

A 17-song set of hits, a new song from Graham Gouldman’s solo album, and an acapella version of “Donna”. The coolest song of the night had Graham Gouldman, Rick Fenn, Andrew Park, and Keith Hayman singing the entire song, until the last line sung by Paul Burgess who provided the deep bass voice finish it off. 10cc covers so many musical genres including Prog Rock, Rock N’ Roll, Surf, Country and blend them all in their set list. The “ultimate hits” were all played and the crowd became the “sixth” 10cc band member as they sang along all night long.

One of the “old school” gestures that 10cc did during the show was to face whatever band member was doing his solo. I have always liked this show of respect by band members for their fellow band members talent. Over the years, 10cc have earned respect for their incredible songs, music, and talent which the proved last night. Some fun moves during the show that had the band smiling and laughing at each other showed how much they were enjoying playing together.

I, along with everyone else at the concert is very hopeful that 10cc will return to The Kent Stage very soon and not wait for 46 years.

Once again, “BEST CONCERT OF 2024!” was being said by the fans of 10cc as they were leaving The Kent Stage.

Opening the show was Joel White. He performed a fantastic 30-minute set that made for a lot of new fans for him. He is the guitar tech for 10cc and recording artist, that filled in to open the show as the original opener was unable to make the show. An extremely great vocalist and guitarist, Joel White was well received by the crowd.
