Axl Rose Breaks Foot Says Tour Is Still On

Axl Rose has vowed to press on with Guns N’ Roses big reunion tour kick-off after breaking his foot.

Rose recently reunited with guitarist Slash and bass player Duff McKagan for their first performance together since 1993, last week at the Troubadour for a special show which also featured keyboard player Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer, served as a mini warm-up for the upcoming tour which started out with their first of two gigs in Las Vegas on Friday night.

However, hours before showtime, Axl announced he was struggling with a broken left foot and shared X-rays of his injury online. “This is what can happen when you do something you haven’t done in nearly 23 years,” he explained, revealing he sustained the injury after slipping during last week’s gig.

He underwent surgery earlier this week, and has since been fitted with a cast, which he is expected to perform with for the next few weeks, reports TMZ.com.

The news of Rose’s fracture emerged shortly after his former manager claimed Guns N’ Roses will only cash in on their reunion tour if they complete the entire trek. Vicky Hamilton told RollingStone.com she has her doubts about whether the live shows will run smoothly, and as a result, she advised fans to catch them in action sooner rather than later. However, she alleged the veteran rockers have a clause in their tour contract which will affect their pay if they bail on the live dates.

“That’s kind of anyone’s guess (whether the reunion will last), but I hear through the grapevine that they’re not going to get paid unless they make it through the tour, so there’s some incentive to play the whole tour,” she told the publication. “It’s hard to tell if they’ll make it through it. I’d say if you want to see it, try and make it to one of the first shows.”
