Beach Boys’ Mike Love to Participate in Live Interview, Performance & Book Signing at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Free Event to Feature Discussion on Love’s NYT Best Seller Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy & His Infamous 1988 Induction Speech

Special VIP Experience to Benefit WaterHealth International

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will host a special, intimate evening with 1988 Inductee and Beach Boys’ founding member Mike Love on Wednesday, September 28 at 7:30 p.m. The event is presented by SoundExchange in conjunction with the Rock Hall’s featured exhibit, Louder than Words: Rock, Power & Politics.

Mike LoveThe free event is open to the public and will take place on the Klipsch Audio Main Stage. Space is limited on a first come, first serve basis. Portions of the event will also be streamed via the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Facebook page.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Vice President of Education and Visitor Engagement Dr. Jason Hanley will interview Mike Love as they discuss more than a half-century of the Beach Boys, Love’s New York Times best-selling memoir Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy, and his infamous speech at the 1988 Induction Ceremony, among many other topics. The event also allows Love to championWaterHealth International, whose mission is to connect organizations across sectors to solve our world’s most pressing water challenges through access to sustainable clean water, sanitation and hygiene. 

Following the interview, The Beach Boys, led by Love (which also features Beach Boys member Bruce Johnston) will perform a short acoustic set. Immediately afterwards, fans will get a chance to meet and greet the “California sound” legend during a special book-signing for Love’s new book, Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy (published September 13, 2016 by Blue Rider Press) which coincides with the October 7th re-release of the 50th anniversary of “Good Vibrations” on vinyl by Capitol/EMI. In order to attend the meet and greet book signing, guests must purchase a book from the FYE store inside of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Fans are also encouraged to tour the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and experience the Beach Boys’ display in the Legends of Rock exhibit, alongside exhibits featuring their contemporaries like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and more. A paid admission ticket is required to tour the Museum.

Fans can support WaterHealth International by making a $1,000 donation to Global Water Challenge. This tax-deductible gift will give fans the option to attend a VIP Beach Boys experience in Cleveland, reserved only for a special few. The VIP pass includes a VIP cocktail party and book signing, a private yacht transfer to the concert at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, special reserved tickets for the concert and a book signing with Mike Love.
