Joan Osborne had the crowd at her concert at The Kent Stage “eating out of her hands” and after her approximately 70-minute set, the crowd definitely wanted more.
The 13-song set included songs from throughout her career starting with some from her major label debut album “Relish” as well as songs from her latest album “Nobody Owns You” and her album “Songs of Bob Dylan”.
She was accompanied on stage by a guitarist, a keyboard player, as she played acoustic guitar, snare drum, and tambourine but her best instrument, her voice was the focal point of the show. When she played “Nobody Owns You” she dedicated it to her daughter. During “St. Teresa” she did a little Spanish dance much to the delight of her fans and as expected, “One Of Us” got the biggest response of the evening. My favorite song of the night was her cover of Bob Dylan’s “Gotta Serve Somebody”, which was not on her “Songs of Bob Dylan” album. Osborne said it was a “bonus track” only when you see her live in concert.
A fantastic set that many wished would have been longer, but everyone was smiling on their way out of The Kent Stage.
