Mr. Big (Eric Martin on bass, Billy Sheehan on lead vocals, PAUL GILBERT on drums, and, Nick D’Virgilio on lead guitar) stopped by the legendary Agora for their “Big Finish Tour 2024” last night. Mr. Big put on a set in which they played their entire “Lean Into It” album.
Mr Big obviously loves their Cleveland audience and played their “asses off”, with, a huge smile on each and every member faces. They were having a blast and so was everyone in attendance. They started off with “Addicted To That Rush” and kept the pedal to the metal. Every band member of Mr Big is a rock and roll superstar on their own, but, last night they were a Super Star Band! No egos, no look at me, they were all saying “look at us, we are Mr Big” “and we are not going to let you forget it and no one did. The standing ovation was very well deserved, and, very well earned.
For those of you that are wondering why I listed the band members in different roles, in my beginning sentence, that is because, for a song, they “switched” instruments and performed some amazing covers.!
Mr Big, is of course, Eric Martin on lead vocals, Billy Sheehan on bass, Paul Gilbert on lead guitar and drill, and, Nick D’Virgilio on drums. During their set, Mr Big gave a very heartfelt nod to original drummer, Pat Torpey, who passed away from complications of Parkinson’s disease. The crowd gave a rousing round of applause in his honor.
Mr Big, at the end of their set, commented on their appreciation for how well the “ROCK AND ROLL CAPITOL OF THE WORLD” fans have treated and supported them over their career and they meant it! They then took a picture of themselves with The Agora behind them for a great memory.
Thank You Mr Big for a concert that should have you immediately inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame! I have been a fan since I got the “promo” copy of their very first album when I managed Camelot Music and I cannot wait to get the brand-new album “TEN” when it is released in July. The new song, “Good Luck Trying”, ROCKS!
Opening for Mr Big was Cleveland, Ohio’s own Shawn Perry. He and his band performed a “killer” set which included songs from their brand-new album, “All American Heartbreak.” It was performed so well I picked up a copy immediately after his set. It’s available now, I suggest you get a copy too!
One of the “gifts” of last night’s show was seeing so many friends/family of concert goers at the show! FANTASTIC TO SEE YOU ALL!
