Peter Cetera Not Joining Chicago Onstage At Rock Hall Inductions

It seems the story never changes with the bands inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Chicago rocker Robert Lamm has apologized to fans and backtracked over comments suggesting original singer Peter Cetera will rejoin the bandmates to perform when they are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year.

Lamm was asked about a reunion with Cetera and Danny Seraphine by Radio.com recently and he stated: “Oh yeah, If there’s ever a time that we can share the stage again, this is it, I think it could have a huge emotional impact on the audience. And I think that that would be a very moving experience.”

Since that interview, Lamm has had to backtrack on his comments. He wrote in a statement to Billboard: “I’ve mistakenly said Cetera would be playing. He has emphatically declined. My email exchanges with Cetera were misinterpreted by me, and I’ve apologized to him, and likewise apologize to the music press community and fans.”

The seven original members of Chicago Lamm, Cetera, Seraphine, trumpeter Lee Loughnane, trombone player James Pankow, saxophonist Walter Parazaider, and late guitarist Terry Kath will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

It is not yet known if Cetera, who left in 1985, will still attend the event, which will take place in Brooklyn, New York on 8 April. Seraphine, who quit the group in 1990, has yet to comment on the induction news.
