Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Announces New Chairman of the Board and New Board Members

The board of directors of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio announced the election of Chris Connor, Executive Chairman of The Sherwin-Williams Company, who previously served as the board’s Vice Chairman, to the position of board Chairman. Connor takes over from Alec Wightman, Partner at Baker & Hostetler LLP, who served as Chairman of the board since 2013 and will continue to serve as a Trustee on the Executive Committee.

At its last meeting, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame board of directors also elected four new members:

Brian Caine, owner, European Wax Centers and Great Clips
Dr. Carol Cunningham, State Medical Director, Ohio Department of Public Safety
Dennis Devine, Co-President, Key Community Bank
David Goodman, Director, Ohio Development Services Agency
Chris Connor“Alec was a fantastic chairman and we will continue to benefit from his leadership for years to come,” said Greg Harris, President and CEO, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. “Chris Connor, a highly successful corporate executive and respected nonprofit leader is perfect for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s next chapter.”

Connor is the thirteenth chair in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 20-year history, and has served on the board since 2002. Currently, Executive Chairman of The Sherwin-Williams Company, he has been with the organization since 1983 in roles of increasing responsibility. He is also on the board of directors of Sherwin-Williams, Eaton Corporation, the Playhouse Square Foundation, University Hospitals, and is a member of the dean’s advisory committee of the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University. He graduated from Ohio State University.

In addition to the board’s leadership changes, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has named four new members to its board of trustees, appointed to three-year terms. The new members add to a board of trustees made up of business, industry and community leaders worldwide. The board supports the nonprofit organization’s unique mission to engage, teach and inspire through the power of rock and roll.

Over the past twenty years, the Rock Hall has welcomed over ten million visitors from around the world and generated more than two billion dollars in economic impact for the region. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame furthers its mission through new exhibits, interactive displays, award-winning educational activities, its Library and Archives, live music performances, and programs that bring the stories of rock and roll to life. The new board members join during a busy time for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with a packed summer of live music, the installation of Rock Boxes in the City, the debut of its featured exhibit: Louder Than Words: Rock, Power and Politics, and more.
