1957

Uh, oh.  Word gets out that Jerry Lee Lewis was married to his13-year old distant cousin Myra…while still married to his second wife! The one-time rival to Elvis’ throne is caught in the middle of a career killing scandal and run out of England.  Lewis is able to recreate himself as a country star and is later accepted at fifties revival shows.

1974
Big day in Rolling Stones history.  After a little over five years, Mick Taylor announces he is leaving the band.  There have been a number of debates over the years as to why he made that move opening the door for Ronnie Wood as replacement.  Here’s his take.
1985
One of the original band members, Rolling Stone pianist Ian Stewart dies from a heart attack at age 47.
