1967
Paul McCartney becomes engaged to actress Jane Asher. It ended just a few months later allegedly because Jane caught Paul cheating.
1977
The Sex Pistols play a Christmas Day concert for kids at Ivanhoe’s in Huddersfield, England. We can’t figure it out either!
1982
It was recorded years before (in September 1977) but the David Bowie / Bing Crosby duet on “Peace On Earth – Little Drummer Boy.” Is a hit again in Britain.  The original recording was done when Crosby was in England to tape a TV special called Merrie Olde Christmas.  His kids were Bowie fans and David mum was a fan of “der Bingel”
That same session was parodied in an episode of “Funny or Die”.
2006
“The Godfather of Soul” takes his final bow as James Brown dies from severe pneumonia at the age of 73.  As in life, Brown did not exit quietly.
