1965
Davy Jones had plenty of work before he was a Monkee. In an episode of Ben Casey titled “If You Play Your Cards Right, You Too Can Be A Loser” he plays a junkie.  Jones was already set to star in the Monkees but production had yet to begin.

1968

Iron Butterfly plays the Cleveland Grande weeks before the venue closes for good.

1971
After a tryout as a summer replacement series, The Sonny & Cher Show becomes a weekly series.
1983
The lead singer of Bob Kuban And The In-Men, Walter Scott, goes missing on this day.  Best known for the 1966 hit, “The Cheater”, Scott’s body would be found in April 1987 bound and floating face down in a cistern.
