This Day in Rock History: December 2nd

Time to take a look back into this day in rock history: December 2

1967
What a year 1967 was for the Monkees!  The “pre-fab four” had four number one albums for a total of 30 weeks on the US charts.  By comparison, the Beatles Sgt. Pepper spent 15 weeks on the charts that same year.

1974

The much-anticipated return of George Harrison …that never made it to Cleveland!  A snowstorm stranded Harrison in Chicago cancelling his Richfield Coliseum date, and by all accounts the audience didn’t miss much.  A failing voice and a refusal to do some Beatle tunes didn’t meet audience approval at other dates around the US.  He would never do another US tour.

2017
A Kent Stage favorite, Mickey Dolenz offers a healthy dose of nostalgia along with plenty of classic Monkees during his frequent visits.
