1974

John Lennon makes it official.  Vacationing at Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Village Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, he is the last to sign the documents officially ending the Beatles.  His companion May Pang captures the moment on film.  But why Disney World?

1980
Songwriter Tim Hardin, who penned “Reason to Believe” and “If I Were a Carpenter” dies of a heroin overdose just after his 39th birthday.

1998
Former Clevelander and John Adams High grad Johnny Moore, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the Drifters, dies at age 64.

1999
Former Beatle George Harrison is attacked by an intruder at his mansion in England.  In the 3 AM attack, Harrison is stabbed several times but his assailant is finally brought down by his wife Olivia and son Dhani.

2016
The Beatles first manager, Alan Williams, dies in Liverpool at the age of 86.  He managed the group when Stu Sutcliffe was still on bass guitar and got them a tour of Scotland backing Johnny Gentle as well as gigs in Germany.  They left his management in a dispute over commissions.
