Time to take a look back into this day in rock history: February 17

1966
Brian Wilson’s opus, “Good Vibrations”, gets it’s first takes in the studio, the first of eleven sessions.  It will be for the time the most expensive single ever recorded.  It will also be the last Beach Boys’ single to hit the top ten for a  decade.
1971
James Taylor joins Linda Ronstadt, Tony Joe White and Neil Young on The Johnny Cash Show.

1973

Notice the opening act for the Mahavishnu Orchestra’s Case Western Reserve University gig.
