A rock and roll classic, Little Richard walks into New Orleans’ J & M Studios and records “Long Tall Sally”, which ranks at #56 on Rolling Stone’s list of The 500 greatest Sings of All Time.
1957
The nation of Iraq sees cultural storm clouds on the horizon and bans the movie Rock Around The Clock as dangerous to young people. Here’s a look at the foreign movie trailer, with Alan Freed in French!
1959
Buddy Holly is laid to rest in Lubbock, Texas.  His pallbearers include Phil Everly.  Oh, one more thing. They misspelled his named on the gravestone.  There’s no “e”in his last name.
