1965
Singer Jack Jones host the debut of NBC’s Hullabaloo.  The show differs from Shindig! in that many of the performances are lip synched and the guests will often sing other acts.

1967

Leo’s Casino scores a double act hit with the Temptations and Gladys Knight and the Pips.

Two Motown greats headline the Akron Civic Theater.

1976
Okay, so who thought this was a good idea?  The Sex Pistols appear on Thames television’s Today show and the host goads them into a conversation and, yeah, watch out for the F-bombs
2003
Bee Gee Maurice Gibb dies in a Miami Beach hospital at age 53 from cardiac arrest.  A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee he was part of the group that set records with the soundtrack for “Saturday Night Fever”.  There was some controversy associated with his passing.
2023
A major surprise.  Elvis’ only daughter, 54-year old Lisa Marie Presley dies from cardiac arrest just days after attending the Golden Globe awards.  Friends say she seemed out of sorts at the ceremony.
