This Day in Rock History: January 17th

Time to take a look back into this day in rock history: January 17

1963
An early version of the Rolling Stones with Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts and Ian Stewart play together for the first time at the Marquee Jazz Club on Wardour Street in London.

2003
A long-bootlegged recording of Mick Jagger singing what was supposed to be the last Apple single, “Too Many Cooks”, shows up on the original long lost acetate from 1974.  Mick Jagger sings the tune with John Lennon on guitar.  (Lennon also wrote the tune.).   It wasn’t officially released because they were both signed to rival record companies.
