Time to take a look back into this day in rock history: January 21
The record says “Monkees” but this one is all Davy Jones. He records “A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You” at RCA’s New York studios with some of the top session men in the city. The song gets as high as #2 on the charts, blocked by the Frank and Nancy Sinatra duet “Something Stupid”.

Lou Reed continues his reign of terror with a stop at the Akron Civic Theater. Reed would say that Northeast Ohio was one of the few areas that really “got” what the Velvet Underground was all about.
