This Day in Rock History: November 24th

Time to take a look back into this day in rock history: November 24

1972
The first episode of Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert hits the airwaves.

Notice that one of the acts was Michael Stanley along with Joe Walsh and Dan Fogelberg. When Michael’s career didn’t accelerate as initially expected the segment was rerun as “Joe Walsh and Friends”.

1975

The Beach Boys were struggling not to be seen as an oldies act by the time they played this 1975 date at the Richfield Coliseum with Dave Mason.

1991
We lost one of the greats on this date as Queen’s Freddy Mercury dies of AIDS just days after admitting he contracted the disease.
