This Day in Rock History: November 26th

Time to take a look back into this day in rock history: November 26

1970

The Byrds played Cleveland’s Music Hall on this date in 1970.  It was also the first Northeast Ohio show by Elton John who would go on to fill Public Hall the following June.  Here’s a sample of the Byrds set recorded just two months before at the Fillmore.

Just weeks before this performance, Elton John gave a live radio concert broadcast on WABC. The concert was a smash hit and so heavily bootlegged the record company issued it soon after.   It was titled “11-17-70” for the date it was recorded, or in Britain as “17-11-70”.
