This Day in Rock History: November 30th

Time to take a look back into this day in rock history: November 30

2013

The rock and roll dream came true for Akron’s Tim “Ripper” Owens when he took over lead vocal duties in Judas Priest after Rob Halford left the band. It seems pretty sure bet he inspired the film “Rock Star” with Mark Wahlberg playing a version of Owens in the movie.  His career continued after Halford returned to the band, including a stop at the Kent Stage.  Here’s a taste of Owens fronting Judas Priest.
