1973

A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee with the Impressions, Curtis Mayfield was dubbed “the gentle genius”.  He played Cleveland’s Allen Theater on this date in 1973.

1977

Martin Scorsese’s The Last Waltz documenting the final concert by the Band premieres in New York City.

You know that last name.  Called “relaxed and expressive”, the duo of bassist/trombonist Chris Brubeck and drummer Dan Brubeck are the sons of the legendary pianist Dave Brubeck and are keeping his musical legacy alive while forging their own unique sound.
