Time to take a look back into this day in rock history: October 19

1966
Less than a week into Dick Clark’s caravan American Bandstand tour, Jeff Beck falls victim to acute tonsillitis and leaves the Yardbirds.  That tour also featured Brian Hyland, Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs, and Gary Lewis and the Playboys among others.  By all accounts, Beck wasn’t happy during much of his time in the Yardbirds.

1973
Still touring after fifty years, Tower of Power continues to draw enthusiastic crowds.
