Time to take a look back into this day in rock history: October 27

1968
Simon and Garfunkel had reached their peak with TV specials and even appearing with crooner Andy Williams.  The fame had also caused a strain on their working relationship, but they continued to generate one thought-provoking hit after another.

1975

First time ever for a rock star, and still a rare occurrence, when Bruce Springsteen appears on the cover of both Time and Newsweek in the same week!

1980
The fall 1980 tour never happened.  Drummer John Bonham died on September 25th and the band eventually decided they would not continue as Led Zeppelin.

This version of the Beach Boys was without key member Brian Wilson who was pursuing his solo career.

With the original lineup not likely to reunite at that time (bassist Jack Bruce has since passed on) the band’s relatives took up instruments to continue their legacy.
