The Purple One himself, Prince gave fans an unexpected early holiday gift by releasing his new album “HITNRUN Phase Two” on Saturday.
The R&B icon released “HITNRUN Phase One” in September, and three months later, he surprised devotees with the follow-up album, which is exclusively available on Jay Z’s streaming music service, Tidal. Prince removed his back catalog from other music streaming sites, including Spotify, but struck a deal with Jay Z in July to exclusively release his music on Tidal.
The new HITNRUN collection is Prince’s 33rd studio album.
Making the 23-track album available on Tidal, Prince took to Twitter and wrote: “PLEASE EVERYONE PURCHASE THE PRODUCT AFTER LISTENING.”
