Beatles Song Hey Jude Makes History In China

Hey Jude has become the first Beatles song licensed for use in China.

The Paul McCartney/John Lennon song will feature in Yesterday Once More, a new movie from director Yao Tingting.
Film bosses at Beijing Enlight Media reportedly paid a six-figure sum to score the rights to the 1968 tune.

Sony/ATV senior vice president Esther Friedman tells Billboard that executives were impressed with the idea behind the film about school friends falling in love, and felt the project was “perfect for The Beatles”.
